Some jobs feel like work from the first minute. Others feel like being invited to a great party with a camera in your hands. The launch of glambou x Gübelin at Globus Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich was the second kind.
The Collection
CARAT CASUAL is the first joint collection of glambou and Gübelin. Gübelin is a Swiss family business in its sixth generation, founded in Lucerne in 1854 and known for its expertise in gemstones. glambou is a contemporary jewellery brand with shop-in-shops at Globus. Together they created fine jewellery in 14-carat gold with lab-grown diamonds, designed to be worn every day. The collection has three lines: Essence, Lumi, and Toi & Moi.

Before the Guests Arrived
I arrived early, while the team was still setting up at the glambou counter on the second floor. That is my favourite time at a launch: no crowds, calm light, and time to look closely at the details. The photo wall was still empty, and the collection was ready for its first guests.

Jennifer Bosshard was already there too, getting ready for the evening before the first guests came in.

The Evening
Then the guests arrived. Around 50 people filled the counter, and the atmosphere changed within minutes. There was a lot of laughing, a lot of curiosity about the jewellery, and the kind of energy you cannot plan.
It felt less like work and more like a great evening with great people.
Jewellery and guests
Everyone wanted to see the pieces up close and try them on. Jennifer was one of them, and I photographed the moment she tried on her first pieces.

Zoë Pastelle was among the guests, and so were many others who made the evening what it was.

Two more guests I want to mention: Mira and Janine, who made the evening even brighter.

Fashion creator Michèle Krüsi was there too.

The Panel Talk
At around 18:45, the panel talk began, moderated by Jennifer Bosshard. She was joined by Raphaël Gübelin, Christina Skoeries, CEO of glambou, and Julie De Cuyper. They spoke about the collection and the partnership behind it, and the room listened closely.

Afterwards, a Gübelin gemmologist showed guests a gemstone under the microscope. That is Gübelin's home ground, and seeing a stone that closely, explained by an expert, made the collection feel even more real.

The Vibe
A big part of the atmosphere came from the music. DJ Daytona set exactly the right tone for the evening. Good music relaxes a room, and relaxed guests are always the best subjects for a photographer.

Why This Matters for Couples
glambou describes the collection as jewellery for the big "yes" moments, the small ones, and everything in between. Weddings are full of them, and so was this evening. It is the same approach I bring to every wedding: details first, then the moments between them, and a team that stays in the background.
Thank You
Thank you to the glambou and Gübelin teams, to Julie De Cuyper for the trust and the great organisation, to DJ Daytona for the music, and to everyone who made this evening so special. It was a pleasure to be part of it.
If you are planning an event for your brand, or your wedding, I would love to hear from you.
